Fundraising for Basically Babies We are collecting clothing items for 0-24 months to make up layettes for families lacking the financial resources to provide for their babies. The baskets are designed so thst family members feel a great deal of personal worth and dignity as they enter parenthood. We plan to make one layette for a boy and one for a girl. These layettes provide the basic necessities for the first 24 months of life. Please purchase items from the list below and you can bring them to the meeting on August 18 at the Faculty Club or drop them off to Audrey at 11716-32A Ave. Questions call Rose Marie or Audrey.. ITEMS NEEDED:: socks, shoes, slippers,bibs, towels, receiving blankets, blankets, snowsuits, hats, mitts, sweaters, jackets dresses, pants shirts , tops, storybooks, stuffed toys(small and new). clothing can be new or gentally used.

When: Tuesday August 4 - Wednesday August 5, 2020.
Why: This is an important fundraiser for Arch. Traditionally, members from the Rotary Clubs of Edmonton South and Edmonton Strathcona have volunteered the worker positions in the casino.

Volunteers: Some things to know about COVID-19 protocols and Casino events Thank you for volunteering for our upcoming Casino event. Please be aware that AGLC is being proactive, anticipating that tables will be open at venues in conformance with COVID-19 protocols so that Charity groups can proceed with their fundraising efforts. AGLC will keep Arch informed as we get closer to our July 11 start date. Any significant changes will be communicated to all of our volunteers promptly. Please keep an eye on your emails as we get closer to our casino dates in case of changes or additional instructions. Here is a brief snapshot of what to expect when you work the Casino fundraiser. Every able member of our clubs is requested to step up to the plate and sign up for one of more shifts. If you want to sign up for more than one shift, then you must chose the same task for both shifts, e.g. you cannot work as a Cashier one day and a Chip Runner the other day. From the home page in the 'Upcoming Events' section click on the BROWN [Arch Casino 2020] button and a list of all the shifts with applicable start and end times will appear. Use the BLUE [Sign Up] button to volunteer.

On Saturday, August 8, 2020, the Rotary Club of Spruce Grove is hosting Rotary Rides for You Can Ride 2, a motorcycle ride and poker run in support of You Can Ride 2, a program that loans adapted bikes to children with special needs.
The event begins in Spruce Grove, ends in Edmonton, and has a leisurely 250 km tour in between. All the details about the event and the cause, including registration and volunteer links, can be found at https://sprucegroverotary.
Right now, we are opening this event to only Rotarians and their friends and families as well as families and friends of the You Can Ride 2 program. There are limited registrations available! We are only taking 60 riders in this inaugural year, so act fast! If you're a Rotarian who doesn't ride, and you live in or west of Edmonton, please consider coming out to spectate or volunteer!

Register by Thursday if you have not done so. You must register and wear a facemask to enter the Faculty Club You can remove it ito eat. Our regular meeting on August 18,2020 will be at the Faculty Club at the U of A. We have thirty spots, social distancing on the patio for lunch and a meeting.. You will choose from the menu or your lunch and drinks and each person pays theri own. Please register on line. Arrive at 11;30 so you can place your lunch orders in time for the meeting. Limited to 30 Rotarians. |
