\n\nVolunteers Needed: \; 1 volunteer per shift &ndash\; two shifts per day for 40 day s\; 80 shifts
\n\nShifts: \; 11:00 AM to 3:00 P M &\; 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM (Monday to Saturday)
\n\n\; \;& nbsp\; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM &\; 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM (Sundays)
\n\n\;&nb sp\; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; skates and helmets\, getting folks to sign the waiver form\ , and help reinforce the rules. \;
\n\n\; \; \;&nbs p\; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; Take pa yment\, debit and handle cash. \; \; You will be accompanied by on e of the Guest
\n\n\; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; Services Reps from the Southgat e Centre\, and of course staff from Southgate will be \; \; \; \;
\n\n\; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; overseeing the project.

\n\n\; \; \;& nbsp\; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; The Porkapalooza BBQ Festival&rsquo\;s mission is to bring the c ulinary art of BBQ to the city of \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \;&n bsp\; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; Edmon ton in a family-oriented event. The festival provides the opportunity to b ring in
\n\n\; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \;Western Canada&rs quo\;s top BBQ enthusiasts to compete in Edmonton&rsquo\;s only BBQ compet ition
\n\n\; \; \; \; \; \; \; \;&n bsp\; \; \; \; \; \; \; sanctioned by the Kansas C ity BBQ Society. The festival also showcases local musicians\, a Kids
\ n\n\; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; Zone\, BBQ competition\, beer garden s and a food demonstration stage. We expect BBQ

\n\nDescription of Volunteer Duties: GREEN TEAM (SITE CLEAN UP AND MONITORING)
\n \nThe Green Team is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the fest ival by ensuring tables are cleared and clean\, that proper waste and recy clables are going into proper containers. Duties may include:
\n\nCl earing and cleaning of tables\; Site cleanliness\; Place regular garbage i n appropriate containers\;
\n\nMonitor garbage levels and ensure the y are not overflowing\; Once containers are full\, remove garbage and plac e in the designated area\; Ensure all emptied containers to have proper ba gs
\n\nParking and Food: \; There is no Parking for Volunteers\, encouraged to use public transportation\, Food \;&n bsp\; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \ ; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \;&nb sp\; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \ ; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \;&nb sp\; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; \; vouchers will be available.
\n\nDue to the nat ure of this position\, closed toe shoes are required.

\n\ nVolunteer Duties: \; Making sure people put there recycling and garbage in the right containers\, getting the bags changed out when full. Volunteers get to hear the great music while at the festiva l! \; (There will be a pre-training session a couple hours one evening 1 week ahead. TBA).
\n\nParking: \; They will be offering a FREE SHUTTLE from the University area. There are 900 parking spots within the park\, so not everyone will be able to drive. \;We suggest you car pool\, or take advantage of our free bike lock up or our f ree shuttle. \; Shuttle services are \;FREE and will run \;fr om the University area to William Hawrelak Park. This year\, we are workin g with Golden Arrow buses (not ETS). The shuttle hours are: \; Friday \, July 21 from 2 pm to 11 pm Saturday\, July 22 from 9:30 am to 11 pm Sun day\, July 23 from 9:30 am to 11 pm \; For detailed information on Sh uttles\, the location of Park and Ride lots and schedule click \;here. \;
\n\nFood: \; Snacks\, Coffee\, and Water provi ded on site. \; Each volunteer receives 1 food voucher per shift to be used at any of the food trucks on site.

\n\nK-Days Parade &ndash\; Ju ly 20 Downtown
\n\nIt&rsquo\;s a part of K-Days that&rsquo \;s as important as the fair itself&mdash\;a tradition that has brought mi llions of smiles to children and adults alike over the past generations. E very year the K-Days Parade sets the 10-day event in motion with a sea of beautiful floats\, giant balloons\, amazing performers\, loveable mascots and real life animals.
\n\n\;
\n\nArrival Ambassa dors:
\n\nGreet our guests at the entrance to our grounds a nd provide them with all the information necessary for a quality entertain ment experience during their visit to the grounds. This is an outside posi tion come rain or shine.
\n\n\;
\n\nThe KidSport Activity:
\n\nYour duties will include collecting funds/don ations from guests to participate in the hardest shot\, throw\, or kick ac tivity. Volunteers will be on their feet for the majority of the shift ret rieving balls that are kicked\, shot\, and thrown past the radar gun. Volu nteers will also be asked to update the hardest throw\, kick\, and shot si gnage board. Proceeds from the activity support KidSport Edmonton.

\n\nMakers Exhibition Monitors/Move-in/out:
\n\nNEW to this year\, K-Days will feature our first Makers Exhibition showcasing and celebrating local makers\, creators \, artists and producers of all ages! Whether it&rsquo\;s a passion\, hobb y\, side-hustle\, kid art or prototype\, we want to showcase Alberta&rsquo \;s talent\, from art to horticulture.
\n\nCome and be part of this great new program whether helping judges or entrants. Some positions are p re-event.
