Henry Jakubowski received a BS in Chemistry after spending several years as an Astronomy/Physics major.  Following his undergraduate degree, he developed clinical diagnostic tests at the Mayo Clinic for four years before pursuing a Ph.D in Biochemistry at the University of Iowa.  He returned to Mayo for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Biophysics before taking a faculty position in the Chemistry Department at the College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University, where he has taught for 30 years. He is also a visiting Professor of Chemistry at Southwest University, Beibei, Chongqing, China as a result of his teaching there and work developing a student research collaboration between the two universities.

In recent years he has increasingly realized the impact of climate change on the world we are leaving for our children and grandchildren and has felt he has not done enough to bring the science of climate change to his students and to the general public. The urgency of this issue has led him to develop programs and give talks on climate change and present solutions which offer hope for future generations.
