Our Rotary Club was originally chartered by 18 men in the town formally known as Grand Falls on February 13th, 1970.  The Rotary club at that time was aptly named after the “Grand Falls” in the area.  Members consisted of men from the Town of Grand Falls and some from the neighbouring town of Windsor.

In 1991 the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor was incorporated with the two towns formally known as Grand Falls and Windsor amalgamated.  At which time to Rotary Club of Grand Falls, continued its tradition and name.

In 2017 our membership felt that the Rotary Club of Grand Falls no longer reflected our diverse membership, nor the growing number of communities we serve.   As Rotary International grows and changes with the times, so to does the grassroots of the international organization; the local Rotary clubs.  Therefore, we changed our name to the Rotary Club of Exploits.  We feel strongly that this name is more inclusive of the citizens, from many neighbouring towns that are part of our ever-growing club membership and we hope that this name also encourages more individuals from the central region of Newfoundland to learn more about our club, what we do and how they can get involved.
Happy 50th Anniversary to us!!! The Rotary Club of Exploits has been supporting the local community and beyond since 1970.  We have been #peopleofaction for 50 years and are now looking not only at what has been accomplished, we are still looking ahead, 50 years forward!  The Rotary Club of Exploits is looking forward to serving the Exploits region and beyond for another amazing 50 years!

We kicked off our Anniversary, but giving back to our community once again.  We held a Read-A-Long program at not 1, but 2 local primary schools, where members from our club and the community read books about diversity and inclusion to each and every student in grades K - 3 in both Woodland Primary and Forest Park Primary.  We then donated the selection of books to each school on Family Literacy Day.

Just recently we had a little club event, where we invited chartered members to join us (some who are still very active in the club and the community) to cut our anniversary cake!
