Attendance

Encourages attendance at all Rotary club meetings, including district conferences, regional conferences, and international conventions.  Keeps members informed about attendance requirements, promotes incentives for good attendance, and seeks to resolve conditions contributing to unsatisfactory attendance.

Classification

Makes an annual classification survey of the community, compiles a roster of underrepresented and unrepresented classifications, and shares results with the Membership Development committee. Recommends classifications for new member applicants to the Board.  *Need to have the ability to scan and email a document.

High School Rotarians

Arranges for local South Bend High School students to attend and participate in Rotary meetings during the school year.  Involves coordination with guidance counselors and interaction with students.

Interact:

Develops and coordinates Club sponsorship of high school students at New Tech (Riley) High School in South Bend. Establishes Rotarian mentors to advise such clubs and promote interaction between Interact and our main Rotary Club.

Job Shadow

Coordinates the partnership of local high school students with Rotarians for an annual one-day Job Shadow event to mentor future leaders through activities culminating in a special club luncheon program.

Membership

Develops and implements creative new member recruitment plans based on review of underrepresented and unrepresented classifications and presents the annual Peacock award to the member who has sponsored the most new members.

Rotaract

Develops and coordinates Club sponsorship of young adult (age 18-30) Rotaract Clubs at local colleges and universities.  Establishes Rotarian mentors to advise such clubs and promote interaction between Rotaract and our main Rotary Club.

RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award): 

Selects up to 3 local high school students (10th -11th) to receive Rotary Club scholarships to attend a weekend-long leadership training event each April.

Yearling

Develops and implements plans to effectively and successfully transition first year members into the Club.  Orients new members to the Club, ensuring that each understands the Club's expectations of a new Club member.  Provides a smooth transition for new members to the Yearling Committee, enhancing retention of these new members during their first year in the Club.
