U.S. Army Colonel/Surgeon to Present Afghanistan Experiences

Dr. Henry E. Bohne, of College Station, will be guest speaker Thursday, July 25th at The Rotary Club of Washington County. Dr. Bohne will tell of his first-hand experiences at a Forward Operating Base in Afghanistan. His presentation will include information on Forward Surgical Teams and military medicine.
Dr. Bohne, a Brazos Valley surgeon, has recently been promoted to Colonel in the United States Army Reserve. As a trauma surgeon, he has completed two tours of duty in Iraq (2009) and Afghanistan (2012). A native Texan, Dr. Bohne is originally from Bellville. His home and medical practice are in College Station where he was honored as “Best General Surgeon” by The Eagle Reader's Choice Awards in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Dr. Bohne is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and member of the Texas Medical Association, Brazos-Robertson County Medical Society, and the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Operating Room Committee at the College Station Medical Center.
