Molly Raney, houston welcomes refugees
Service Day | houston welcomes refugees
Space Center Rotary June In Club Service Day (In Person!)
Monday, June 15 - 12PM - Bay Oaks Country Club

houston welcomes refugees’ mission is to help ease the resettlement process for refugees coming to Houston by mobilizing invested, caring volunteers, fostering hope amidst crisis. While many of the volunteer activities for this organization have been immobilized due to the restrictions on incoming international travel, the organization still has needs for welcome kits and grocery gift cards. We will be pleased to welcome Molly Raney, Executive Director who will tell us more about this organization at our June 15 meeting.

The Rotary Club of Space Center has rescheduled the program from March and has partially collected items for 10 welcome kits. These kits will be assembled and packed after the club meeting Monday, June 15 at Bay Oaks Country Club.

We are still in need of the following items – please email mintz.melinda@gmail.com BEFORE JUNE 12 if you are interested in donating one or more of these NEW items:
  • 7 – 70 quart clear plastic bins (for packing the kits)
  • 18 bars of soap (or six 3-packs of soap)
  • 6 standard pillows
  • 1 silverware drawer organizer
  • 4 plastic cups (reusable)
  • 2 dozen pens
  • 1 household scissors
Have you already done your spring cleaning? houston welcomes refugees also accepts gently used (or brand new) floor lamps and vacuum cleaners, if you purchased a new one and don’t know what to do with your perfectly good used ones. Bring them with you on June 15 and houston welcomes refugees will find them a good home.
