Natalie Stigall is the Education and Outreach Advocate of The Bridge Over Troubled Waters
spoke to our Club today. She educated us on the different ways on domestic and sexual violence, and how to support someone in an abusive relationship.
Natalie will be back Oct 31st to finish up her program. Please feel free to join us.

Linda Rodriquez is the District Corrdinator of PBIS Multi-Tiered System of Behavioral Support for Pasadena ISD.
Her focus is on mental health education/awareness, social emotional learning, building trauma-informed school environments, developing kinesthetic classrooms, embedding restorative practices that build positive relationships and repair harm to the students. She is piloting the district's first use of a virtual platform (telehealth) to provide direct counseling services to youth struggling with mild to moderate mental health concerns related to trauma, grief, anxiety and depression.

Sarah is responsible for cultivating positive ECHS culture, coordinating with San Jacinto College to provide their students with post-secondary coursework and ultimately readying to earn an associate's degree along with their high school diploma.

Judge Angelina Gooden with 280th Family District Court was appointed to fulfill the unexpired term through December 2018.
She spoke on protective orders and domestic violence. She worked for both private law firms and in the non-profit sector as a contract attorney with Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse for 11 years.

Derrill Painter is our District's area Membership Chair. He spoke to our club on different types of Memberships. To help grow our Club's membership.
Xaver Krapoth is our Youth Exchange from Dresden, Germany.  He spoke about his visit to Texas and the places he got to visit.
He will be returning home in July.

Xaver Krapoth is our Youth Exchange from Dresden Germany.  He has a twin brother and 3 other siblings.  Xaver's olders sister was an exchange student in Israel, his other sister was a Rotary exchange student in Ecuador, and his twin brother is in Ecuador.
Nicole let us know all the great things "Stuff the Sleigh", a 501c3 nonprofit organization, is doing for pediatric cancer patients and families. They provide an escape for pediatric cancer patients during the Christmas Season. Their efforts are aimed at giving each patient and family they assist the joy and spirit of Christmas through year-round giving.
Right now they are trying to fill the Christmas List of their patients. If you would like to help, or learn more, please visit their website at www.TheSleigh.org

Linda Nagel, Club Vice-President had Nicole sign a book that will be donated to one of our local PISD students.
 Patricia Eubanks with the City of Pasadena updated our club on what the City is doing in helping PISD students afford to learn and play golf.
Also, the City is in the middle of their "Can Do Food Drive". The donations will be distributed to 5 local food banks. The drive will take place on Thursday, Nov. 16th. from 8:00am-6:00pm at Pasadena Veterans Memorial Stadium. If you would like to volunteer please email volunteerpasadena@ci.pasadena.tx.us
They will also need help sorting on Friday and Saturday, Nov 17th and 18th
Our District Governor, Bill Palko spoke to our club on Rotary: Making A Difference.
He filled us in on what our district is doing and how Rotary has made a difference in many peoples lives.

Pasadena South Rotary donated $500 to Polio Plus in DG Bill Palko's name.
During our meeting we celebrated Veterans Day by honoring our Vets with songs from all our Branches and Cake.
District 5890 DG Bill Palko served in the Army and Ted Grant served in the Air Force.
Irene Hickey, our AG from Rotary Club of the University Area, spoke to our club about this years theme. "ROTARY: MAKING A DIFFERENCE".

Dr. DeeAnn Powell, Superintendent for Pasadena ISD gave our club information on the November Election, School Bonds and Tax Ratification.
Steven Foster, President CHI St. Luke's Health, Patients Medical Center, presented  to our club today.  Steven shared how to select a physician, working with a hospital on payments and how to be a smart patient.
Vice-President Linda Nagel has Steven sign a book that will be donated to a local student.
Roy Watson, Chevron Phillips Chemical Company's Workforce Development and Training Manager.
He spoke to our club this week. He gave us an oversight of the efforts towards communicating industry workforce needs for the 135-member companies of EHCMA.
Chevron Phillips holds a fundraising Golf Tournament each year to help raise funds for their Scholarship program. In 2016 they donated $520,000 in scholarships for careers in Petrochemical Industy

Zachary Alexander has served in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years. He was deployed twice. 2007-2008 and 2009-2010.
When he returned back home with PTSD he found Camp Hope. Now he is a fire fighter and a Mentor at Camp Hope and helping his brothers through their PTSD.
Camp Hope provides interim housing for our Wounded Warriors, Veterans and their families suffering from combat related PTSD in a caring and positive environment.
They are a 501c3 organization and work solely on donations.
Lets continue to Support our Sons/Brothers when they come home. Please check out Camp Hope's website http://ptsdusa.org/camp-hope/

Zachary Alexander with Camp Hope tells our Club how his life went out of control when he came back from his deployments. Without our Lord and Camp Hope he would probably not be with us today. Today, he now mentors his Military Brothers at Camp Hope.
Rotary Member and Speaker Chair, Steve Fullen has Zachary sign a book that will be going to one of our school age students.
Pastor Douglas Harris with Central Baptist Church spoke to us today about Manna Worldwide. A feeding program to feed the children for just $28 per month.

We have all our speakers sponsor a book to be given to school age students. Doug is signing One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish to be donated.
 Our July Charity Donations for July was Salvation Army. We collected Pantry Food and school supplies.
