Two brilliant Pasadena Memorial seniors Stephanie Green and Julio Hernandez, center, are joined by Assistant Principal John Thompson and Principal Angelia Stallings. 
Julio Hernandez is the son of Sonia and Julio Hernandez.  He carries a GPA of 5.35 and ranks 5th in the class.  He is the Secretary of the National Honor Society, a member of Business Professionals of America, a Member of the Student Council,  the PMHS Varsity Soccer team, the French Honor Society and the French Club.  He serves the community by volunteering in International Tournaments for his team helping with setting them up and visits the NHS Nursing Home.  His honors include Academic Excellence Awards all four years of high school, the AP Scholar Award, Texas Boys State Attendee and is a nominee for the National Academy of Future Scientist and Technologists.  Hobbies and spare time activities include playing for the Pasadena Memorial Varsity Soccer Team as well as a team outside of school where he plays soccer at the college level.  He plans to become Petroleum Engineer preparing for that goal at the University of Texas at Austin.  He states that he has challenged himself throughout his academic career to help him reach his potential.  He has learned countless valuable lessons along the way.  He is confident that his education has prepared him not only for his transition to college, but also for his life as an adult as well.
 
Stephanie Green is the daughter of Debbie and Chris Green carrying a GPA of 5.534.  She is the top student at Memorial.  She is a member of the Band, where she is First Chair Clarinet and Section Leader, she is an Interact officer, a member of the National Honor Society, the National Hispanic Honor Society and the Federal Reserve Student Board of Directors.  She far exceeds the goal of Memorial students to serve 100 hours of community service by serving over 350 hours.  She is part of the Houston Zoo Crew where she educates guests about various animals and conservation of species.  She is part of the Pasadena Strawberry Festival Teen Committee where she assists in set-up and operation of the Festival.  She is an AP Scholar with Distinction, a National Merit Commended Scholar, a Texas Music Scholar and holder of Academic Excellence Awards.
Hobbies and other interests including reading, watching the Science Channel, Crime Shows and fostering injured and orphaned kittens until they are ready for adoption.  She is also an occasional “Pet Sitter.” She is currently undecided about the site of her college education, but favors Yale or Princeton where she plans to obtain a BA in Biochemistry and a Doctor of Medicine.  She wants to attend medical school becoming a surgeon specializing in Cardiology or Neurology.
