Guest Speaker Susanna ‘Dokupil is pictured with Pasadena Rotarian Bill Mc Millin.  She is the Assistant Head of the Harris County Republican Party, where her activities include fund raising for many candidates including Senator Ted Cruz, Board member of the Kingwood Tea Party and Treasurer of the Texas Conservative View.  Her impressive background includes graduating from Harvard School of Law, Clerking for the Honorable Jerry Smith of the US Court of Appeals and is the author of over 75 articles for the Washington Times, The American Enterprise, The Texas Review of Law and Politics and the Houston Chronicle.  With this resume she surprised the Club with the announcement that “She wasn’t going to talk about politics”.  Instead she talked of her quest to promote the American Dream of Open Mindedness.  Using videos and other social media venues she outlined a story telling approach. “Too often we push away from presentations that don’t confirm our existing beliefs”.  Telling a story is an unobtrusive way of presenting several views of the same subject letting the listener arrive at a better conclusion after hearing all the facts.  She closed her presentation urging all to vote their convictions November 4th saying “When we fail to limit Government, we limit ourselves.”
