Pasadena Rotarians were attentive to guest speaker, Dr. Christopher Hammons, a man who is passionate about American History.  Hammons is Dean of the School of Humanities and a Professor of Government at Houston Baptist University, teaching classes in constitutional history, political thought and American Politics.  Describing HBU as a well-diversified campus with an mixture of races and religions, he expressed a concern about the deficit of knowledge of American history that is common among students today.  Striving to stimulate and shape the philosophy of HBU, a new building, a replica of Independence Hall, is planned.   To be used for classrooms, community events and conferences the building’s historical ambiance will create a greater awareness of our country’s rich heritage.  Dr. Hammons is a widely published author of books and journals all dealing with America’s rich history.  He is the Director of the Center for Law and Liberty, which is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of our founding principles.
