The club's early risers served breakfast on Friday at Fisher House at the Houston VA Medical Center. Fisher House is a nonprofit organization that provides temporary housing, free of charge, to families with loved ones being treated at the veterans hospital (a Rotary House for military families).

Fisher House 4th Friday Breakfast will be a service project shared with other clubs in District 5890. Cy-Fair will host in February.

A new service opportunity has been established by District 5890 Veterans Projects Chair James Brown (Memorial-Spring Branch).

Fisher House is a nonprofit organization that provides temporary housing, free of charge, to families with loved ones being treated at a veterans hospital (similar to Ronald McDonald House but for military families). Houses are being operated near all major veterans hospitals. There are 73 houses in the US and one each in Germany and the United Kingdom. The Houston VA Medical Center has three houses.  www.fisherhouse.org

Fisher House Fourth Fridays is an opportunity to provide breakfast and fellowship for the families currently staying in the homes. Breakfast is served in the common area of the main house, Fisher House I.

This monthly project will be shared by clubs across the district. Memorial-Spring Branch hosted the January 26th breakfast. Cypress Fairbanks will host in February, Houston Energy Corridor in March and Bear Creek in April. Please contact James Brown (jamesbrown.tx@gmail.com) if your club is interested in hosting a breakfast.
