Dr. Jennifer Blaine has spent 29 years in the field of education with 19 of those years serving the Spring Branch Independent School District community. During her time in Spring Branch, she has served in the following capacities:
In 2019, Dr. Blaine became Superintendent of Schools of the Spring Branch Independent School District. Dr. Blaine holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa and master’s and doctorate degrees from Sam Houston State University. She is a graduate of the 2010 Broad Superintendent Academy, a highly selective and rigorous academy comprised of 14 leaders from across the United States. Dr. Blaine and her family live in Spring Branch and are actively involved in the community. She is married to William Blaine and has one son, Christopher, who attends Stratford High School. |

Bill Knapik, @radioshowbill , is the host of two weekly shows in Houston, Real Estate Matters with Stewart Title and Successful Living with Bill Knapik. He is a business development expert who has years of experience in public speaking. Today he will speak to us on the topic of public speaking and giving us tips and techniques that will help you deliver your message to others whether it’s in a small group setting or a much larger venue. Bill is a business development officer with Stewart title and has made great strides in developing business in Houston’s Memorial and surrounding areas. He currently hosts the radio show “Real Estate Matters” where he talks about all things real estate and informs, entertains, and inspires every Saturday at 1 PM on 100.7 FM and “Successful Living with Bill Knapik” every Saturday at 10 AM, On which he discusses with interesting people about success, challenges, and getting to the next level. You can also find him on his YouTube channel at “Bill Knapik radio shows”.

Uptown Houston District: Present & Future

Bob Ethington joined the Uptown Houston Management District in 2010. His first assignment was to research the history of Uptown and archive the story. That narrative was made into a historical documentary, produced by Texas Foundation for the Arts and featured on PBS. Following that assignment, Mr. Ethington was asked to expand his role to include economic development. Today, he is Director of Research and Economic Development and Community Liaison for The Boulevard Project. Mr. Ethington has taken part in a number of improvement projects and economic advancement, serving the Uptown Houston area for 9 years. |

JT joins the SaberCats from the Texas AirHogs Baseball organization where he was President and General Manager with oversight responsibility for all business areas including sales, marketing, finance and facility operations. Prior to his position with the AirHogs, Onyett was Assistant General Manager of the Sugar Land Skeeters based in Sugar Land Texas from 2013-2016 so even though he is from California, this is a homecoming of sorts for JT and especially his wife, Molly, who has long time roots to the Houston area. Prior to his time in Sugar Land, JT began his career with the San Diego Padres minor league affiliate, the Lake Elsinore Storm. Spending five seasons there, he rose from intern to Assistant GM before moving to the Skeeters. JT is an Eagle Scout and was active in both the Chamber of Commerce as the Chairman Elect and the Rotary Club in Grand Prairie. |

Every Shelter: Designing & Delivering Refugee Housing

Scott is the CEO of Every Shelter, a human-centered design non-profit focused on designing, making, and distributing better relief goods to refugees living in camp settings and low-resource urban environments. His work started as a graduate student with the creation of Emergency Floor, a modular, insulated flooring tile designed to get the nearly 12 million refugees living directly in the dirt in camp settings clean, warm floors. Their flooring work is ongoing based primarily in the Middle East with Syrian refugees and have ongoing projects in Western Africa. Find out more at www.everyshelter.org.
