Rather than a speaker at a recent meeting, Kingwood Rotarians worked together on a service project for "Little Dresses for Africa". This is an organization that makes dresses for girls & shorts / shirts for boys and Dottie Gauthier with St. Mary's Catholic Church in Humble organized the cutting and sewing volunteers.

Kingwood purchased and donated $900 of fabric and materials, and using patterns, we cutout 18 dresses that local seamstresses with sew into dresses.  Since time was limited at our meeting, Dottie  her volunteers cutout an addition 48 girl's dresses and 22 pairs of shorts for little boys.  In total, Kingwood Rotary was able to provide 88 outfits for the Little Dresses for Africa Project.

Kingwood Rotarian Salvador Matute will take the clothing to needy children in Honduras when he visits Rotary clubs there on a monthly basis.
