The Rotary Club of El Campo, in conjunction with Collins Music Center, recently made a donation of $1,000 worth of instruments to the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music located in Musician's Village in New Orleans. Rotary District 5890 chose the Center as their District Project during the recent District Conference, which was held in New Orleans.

The Center, which is a performance, education and recording venue, offers free music lessons for children in the 9th ward of New Orleans, which was the area damaged the most as a result of Hurricane Katrina.
Collins Music Center helped to coordinate the donation with the Center and sent much needed trumpets and stands for the jazz curriculum.
