Our speaker on Monday will be David Cameron-Teixeira. David is a proud Member of the Rotary Satellite Club of London Centennial and was a Youth Exchange Student to Ecuador on 2005 sponsored by our Rotary Club. He is now an award-winning social entrepreneur and a small business owner who lives in the West End with his partner Pablo.  His grandfather, the late Kenneth Arthurs was a past District Governor of Rotary District 5060 and a life-long member of the Rotary Club of Salmon Arm in British Columbia.
David will be talking with us about Youth Entrepreneurship & Mental Health. He will give us an introduction and highlight of the ‘user-experience model’ and how it has helped youth in our community with self-identified mental health challenges and/or addiction challenges to start and sustain their own small business enterprises.
We will also be holding a Rotary Club of London Foundation Special General Meeting for the election of Directors.

We will be meeting at the London Convention Centre in Salon B,B1 on the ground floor.

These groups help expand skills, foster vocational development, and enhance the Rotary experience by exploring interests while developing connections around the world. Breakfast of Champions Award Recipient
This past Tuesday at the Breakfast of Champions, organized by St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation and the Middlesex branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), the two Champion of Mental Health Awards were presented by CMHA Middlesex.  They recognize a group and an individual who make significant contributions to mental wellness in our community.

Mental health advocate Kristen Legault-Donkers, a psychology student at King’s University College, received the ‘individual’ award for the series of books she published on depression, anxiety, ADHD and bipolar disorder geared to children. Through a partnership with our Rotary Club the books will be distributed to 100 elementary schools in the Thames Valley District School Board. Congratulations Kristen!
