Rotary News Today

November is The Rotary Foundation (of Rotary International) Month
The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.  The Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world.

There are as many reasons to support The Rotary Foundation as there are ways to do good in the world.  Through the Every Rotarian, Every Year (EREY) initiative, your contributions of any amount to the Annual Fund or the PolioPlus campaign are the primary source of funding for Foundation programs. Every Rotarian is encouraged to participate in a Foundation project and make a personal gift to the Annual Fund every year.

To learn more about the Foundation go to www.rotary.org/foundation

Festival Coffee
Thank you to the 17 Rotarians who immediately stepped up and volunteered to sell a case of coffee. We are looking for another 20 Rotarians to help out. If we all sell a case of coffee, a case containing only 6 bags ($10 per bag) it will be a very easy fundraiser for us. You can pick up the coffee from the London Convention Centre during the week of November 20th. All funds support youth activities and area schools.

Eye Glasses for Mexico
As part of their Avoidable Blindness Project the Rotary Club of Burton, Michigan, who are in our District, have been taking 2-3,000 pairs of eye glasses (regular and sunglasses) to Mexico each year for many years. Under the leadership of Stu Eberhard and Ramon Marti, we are looking for used glasses which we will forward to the Burton club. Please bring your glasses to our next meeting and leave them at the registration table.
