London Affordable Housing Foundation’s Nightingale Place Project Update as of May 27th 2020
  1. Ontario Government has removed shut down restrictions from all construction projects in the province which helps our project with the industry now moving to full capacity. Products and materials are easier to obtain and workers are feeling more comfortable in their return to work with our existing project Covid precautions remaining in place. The contractor is 92% complete to date.
  2. At our request to be firm and final our Contractor has confirmed again 30th June completion so we have notified them that we are now committing to tenant occupancy. Amongst ourselves we are maintaining our one month buffer and are committing to Saturday 1st Aug tenants. There is a possibility of mid-July occupancies but this is not specifically planned for.
  3. Sister Joan is organizing a project sign to be installed at the site announcing the project is now ready to receive tenant applications and directing them to the rental company for rental enquiries. This should take all consideration in and put  1st Aug as first tenants date. The tenant selection process will be slower with people dealing with the Covid situation and possibly unable to visit BGM’s office for interviews and paperwork. The sooner the better for her for a smooth organized intake program and generation of rental income for us.

The Rotary Club of London Foundation Matching Funds Opportunity:

   - Meals on Wheels (London)
   - London Food Bank
   - Mission Services London

2. The Foundation will consider additional COVID-19 related donation matching requests from individual Rotarians on an each case basis.
