Rotary News Today
B.C. Wildfire Appeals
The Rotary Club of London (RCL) Board of Directors received various communications and considered various options to respond to requests for financial support for emergency relief to those most affected by the wildfires currently raging in the BC interior.   The situation is still changing from day to day and it is not yet clear how our club can best support the efforts and/or needs of Rotary Clubs in the affected areas.  The RCL Board decided to defer support from our club until we get a more clear direction from either our District or Rotary Districts in BC and then consider what is most appropriate.

In the meantime, any Rotarian wishing to provide direct and immediate financial support to this cause should consider making a donation to either the Canadian Red Cross or the Salvation Army, both of which organizations are already active on the ground providing effective local disaster relief, each according to their established expertise and resources. Contributions to either organization are tax-receiptable charitable donations… on-line donors receive an immediate receipt via email.
