October Rotary Economic and Community Development Month
Nearly 1.4 billion employed people live on less than $1.25 a day. Rotarians promote economic and community development and reduce poverty in underserved communities through training, well-paying jobs, and access to financial management institutions.  Projects range from providing people with equipment to vocational training. Rotarians work to strengthen local entrepreneurs and community leaders, particularly women, in impoverished communities. Our Club is providing school desks and supplies in Haiti and micro financing opportunities in Danli, Honduras.

The Salvation Army London Christmas Kettle Campaign 2017

It’s time to start thinking about the season of giving. Once more we can help the Salvation Army with their Christmas Kettle Campaign. The goal this year is $550,000, But they can only meet their goal with our help!

Our Club has been asked to stand by the Kettles at Angelo’s Bakery, 755 Wonderland Road at Beaverbrook Avenue in December. We have been asked to attend the Kettles December 1, 8, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21 from 9am until closing time at 7:30pm.  This means we will have 3 shifts for each of these days. Sign-up sheets are available at our registration desk. Please indicated times and dates that you can help, indicating 1st and 2nd choices so we can easily resolve duplication, and return to Jim Swan or contact him at hjimswan@gmail.com
