Rise Against Hunger
Sunday 5/19 Bear Creek-Copperfield Rotary sponsored a 'Rise Against Hunger' in partnership with Cornerstone Methodist Church on West Road. The intent was provide meals to be earmarked for Venezuelan refugees who have been forced to flee into Columbia. This contribution hopefully will meet an immediate need for people in very dire circumstances and will truly be an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people in need.
We had multiple Rotary clubs join us including Waller Rotary, Cinco Ranch Rotary, Cy-Woods and Langham Creek Rotary Interact clubs and the wonderful Cornerstone church community. All in all we 100+ folks helping to make this project a super success. They packaged 20,000 meals between 2 pm and 4 pm. Each package will supply six meals. If I've missed anyone I apologize but Bear Creek-Copperfield send our many thanks to all who made this a success.
