Richard Long, the Natural Resource Manager for the Army Corps of Engineers, was our featured speaker on today. He has been with the Corps of Engineers for 37 years with responsibilities associated with the Addicks and Barker Reservoirs for almost 35 years. He will share the background and need for the development of the reservoirs that occurred in the 1930's and the ongoing construction. For residents in the Bear Creek and Copperfield areas, all rainwater drains into that reservoir and the future construction has an impact on the protection from flooding for residents in the area.
