We will be learning about Park Nicollet Melrose Center and eating disorders from Carmen Hansen, Melrose Community Outreach Manager and from Andrew Humphrey and Alison Humphrey, caring father and mother, who will share about their daughter Clare’s struggle and information about the Clare Susan Humphrey Memorial Endowment Fund benefitting Melrose Center.

Eating disorders affects millions and yet only 1 in 10 will seek treatment. For over 30 years, Melrose Center has been working with people of all ages and genders suffering from eating disorders. Early identification of these devastating diagnoses can help patients and families achieve full recovery. Melrose continues to educate professionals and the community about early warning signs and symptoms and how Melrose provides supportive evidence-based treatment.

Carmen Hansen, BSN, RN, is the Manager of Community Outreach at Melrose Center. She educates medical and behavioral health providers, teachers, school nurses, and others about eating disorders. Her clinical background includes acute and long term care as well as process improvement and health care quality at Park Nicollet Health Services and the Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement. She received her degree from Bethel University.

Andrew Humphrey, father of Clare Humphrey, is a Wayzata resident, former Mayor of Wayzata, partner and chair emeritus of Faegre Baker Daniels and a corporate lawyer. Andrew advises clients on general corporate counseling, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financing, and securities regulation.

Alison Humphrey, mother of Clare Humphrey, is a Wayzata resident and has been active in the nonprofit community for many years, including serving on the board of the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, as senior warden of St Martin’s by the Lake Church, and as president of North Star Therapy Animals. A lawyer by training, she works at Dorsey & Whitney, where she has served as a partner and currently as a marketing specialist.
