Lynn Groll welcomed Michael Durchslag, Academy Director, from the P.E.A.S.E. Academy, where teens are able to attend high school while sober surrounded by peers who are also in recover.  The academy believes "A strong high school experience within a community of recovery is the foundation for a productive, successful future."
 
Past Member, Beth Ulrich, shared the story of how her daughter struggled with addiction and the harrowing times the family went through to get her daughter to a healthy and happy place in life.  She graduated from P.E.A.C.E. academy last year and has been sober for 18 months.  
 
Some background - P..E.A.S.E. (Peers Enjoying a Sober Education) is the oldest recovery school in the state.  It is funded through state dollars that follow the student from their home districts.  The school works with students who have dealt with trauma, medical issues, and drug and alcohol abuse.
