STRIVE Luncheon Set for Friday, May 24, 2019

The STRIVE committee, Intefaith Outreach, and Wayzata High School are happy to announce that the kick-off to the Charlie Marvin Memorial STRIVE Scholarship Program with an awards luncheon held at Wayzata High School on Friday, May 24, 2019.  There will not be a lunch meeting on Wednesday, May 22.  Members, parents, mentors, and teachers will all come together for this luncheon.
 
Members are invited to come to this luncheon and hear from Charlie's daughter, Paige Marvin, who will be sharing some words about Charlie and how excited she is that the Rotary is honoring her dad's legacy with this program.  WRC will be awarding five $350 scholarships based on the following criteria:
 
* Work Completion - the greatest improvement in percentage of work completion;
* GPA - the highest overall cumulative GPA;
* Increased GPA - the highest percentage increase in GPA (Minimum 2.5 GPA);
Attendance - 90% or greater improvement in attendance;
* Mentorship - the greatest impact MENTORING others in work completion, course grades, and attendance (subjective).
 
WRC has a dedicated line-item in the budget for this program and members can contribute to WRCF at any time and ask that their donations be allocated to STRIVE.  This luncheon does not replace or interfere with our annual WMEF scholarship luncheon scheduled for Wednesday, May 16, 2019 which will still be held at WCC.
