Nick Phelps, Assistant Professor & Director of Minnesota Aquatic Invasive Species Research Center (MAISRC). Dr. Phelps specializes in emerging infectious diseases of farmed and wild fish; development of molecular diagnostic assays; aquaculture systems and production; and aquatic ecosystem health. His work with MAISRC involves screening for Viral Hemorrhagic Septicemia Virus and researching biological controls of aquatic invasive species. He also conducts modeling to predict the risk of spread of AIS, including starry stonewort, Eurasian watermilfoil, and zebra mussels.
