Share Your Ideas with Our Club

Learning from people who are making a difference is an important part of our weekly Rotary meetings. We welcome community leaders, professionals, and representatives of local organizations who have ideas, experiences, or initiatives to share. If you have a topic that would inform, inspire, or connect our members more closely with the community, we would be pleased to hear from you.

Our weekly lunch meetings are held every Friday at 12 pm at the Nanaimo Golf Club.

Members socialize over a buffet lunch, followed by a short business meeting. Guest speaker presentations begin at 1 pm, with 30 minutes allotted, including time for Q&A.

If you are interested in speaking, please send us a short biography as well as a brief outline of your presentation. If you have a PowerPoint slide or video that you would like to bring to aid your presentation, you are of course welcome to do so.

We will dedicate 20-30 minutes of time for your presentation. If you require more time to present your ideas, please let us know ahead of time so we can arrange accordingly.

Previous Speakers

Samantha Letourneau, Executive Director of Literacy Nanaimo, and MP Paul Manly joined us on January 17, 2020. Paul shared his hopes for Nanaimo’s future, and we presented Samantha with a $20,000 donation to support Literacy Nanaimo’s work.

Fourth-year VIU nursing students Brooklyn Marshall, James Dunnett, and Emily Coutu shared their experiences from three weeks in the San Miguel region of central Mexico, where they worked alongside rural communities on projects supporting more sustainable living.
