Assistant District Governor Wayne Anderson presented Past President Jane Currie with the President's Citation Award for 2017-18 and an Appreciation Certificate for our Club's contribution to Polio Plus during the December 7 meeting.
A Rotary family breakfast was held on December 9, 2018. Pancakes, sausages and drinks were served. Santa showed up and distributed gifts to the children.
197 students plus some family members and staff from Bayview school were served a Christmas lunch on December 20 and given gifts to take home.
Rotarians served lunch which included corn, carrots, mashed potatoes, turkey, gravy and cranberry sauce. Mrs. Riches cooked the vegetables, Barsby cooking program cooked the turkeys.
Water, milk and cookies were also served.
Cookies were provided by Shirin Younessian ( Bees Knees) spouse of Behzad.
Thrifty foods gave Rotary a generous discount on the purchase of the food for this event.
Students showed their appreciation by presenting our President with cards.
The Rotary Christmas Dinner was held on the evening of December 20, 2018.
Kari Bradley kindly brought exchange students Dorien Abbekerk from Holland, Juliana Metta from Colombia and Ayu Fujiwara from Japan.
Our traditional ad hoc choir entertained us with Christmas Carols.
Several Christmas readings were done and we had a wine draw. Joan Ryan (right) presented Janeane Coutu (left) with her winnings.
