Centennial Garden Finished

Working for several years with the City of Nanaimo, Nanaimo Parks and Recreation and the Nanaimo City Council, our club made a major contribution and completed design and engineering work for the garden. Construction commenced in April 2020, completed in summer 2020; the garden was inaugurated in September 2020. The garden has a circular design, inspired by the intertidal shoreline, with views over the Nanaimo seawall and harbour. Bordered by benches and a trellis, it includes a 100th anniversary plaque and a time capsule. Pathways and interpretive signs promote Rotarian values, including peace.
