EGC's Russell Bishop welcomes Dennis and Kathy Creighton and Rebecca BlewettThe Eagle/Garden City Rotary Club officially welcomed three transfer members, and we could not be more excited! I'm shown here with Dennis Creighton, Kathy Creighton and Rebecca Blewett on my left. These three members bring enthusiasm for service and perspectives on how other clubs work. They will help guide us toward our vision of enriching the lives of our community, especially our youth.

Rebecca joins the Eagle/Garden City Rotary Club after having been a Rotary member for four years with the Mid Valley Rotary Club in Eugene, Oregon.  She moved to the Treasure Valley with her husband as part of their decision to relocate his corporate offices from Oregon to Eagle. Once here, she opened up Café Yumm! on Eagle Road between Hwy 44 and Chinden. Check it out!  Rebecca is excited to be part of  club projects that emphasize a local community focus in ways that encourage club and community members to work in creative and meaningful ways to help others.

Dennis and Kathy were previously members of the Oakhurst Sierra Sunrise Club in their home community south of Fresno, California. Dennis, a contractor, had been a Rotarian for 29 years and Kathy, a retired educator, had been one for nine years. They truly enjoy helping others and have been fortunate to serve with Rotary locally as well as internationally in such places as Kenya and Ecuador. Dennis and Kathy came to the Treasure Valley for a “better way of life,” which includes quality medical care. The friendliness of the Eagle/Garden City Rotary Club members and their proximity to the Plantation Country Club (our meeting place) were key factors in their decision to continue with Rotary.
