Jun. 23, 2022 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Club members, please prioritize attendance to our annual meeting on June 23. Your attendance is crucial as we plan for our next fiscal year and wrap up this one. The fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. According to our bylaws (Article 5, Section 2), the annual meeting of the Eagle-Garden City Rotary Club is held on the first Thursday in June, if possible. This year, we're holding it a little later in the month. A quorum is necessary to conduct business. One-third of the membership constitutes a quorum at the annual meeting of the Eagle-Garden City Rotary Club. That means we need at least 8 members to make decisions. Also according to our bylaws (Article 6, Section 6), the amount of annual club dues is decided at the annual meeting. These dues include RI per capita dues, subscription to The Rotarian, district per capita dues, club dues, lunch costs, and any other Rotary or district per capita assessment approved by the club. Per Article 6, Section 1, the board is preparing a budget for the next fiscal year, with estimated income and expenditures. This budget may be ready to share at the annual meeting. |

Nov. 10, 2022 - Nov. 12, 2022
The 2023 Rotary International Convention is in Melbourne, Australia, next May. That may be a little far for you to travel. Perhaps traveling to Salt Lake City this November fits better in your calendar or your budget. If so, plan to experience the magic of Rotary at the Big West Zone Institute Nov. 10-12. At this event, you can meet and hear from not only our zone leadership, but RI President Jennifer Jones is scheduled to attend. You'll meet Rotarians from the Big West districts, attend sessions where you can learn more about ideas to enhance your Rotary experience, and be able to take those ideas back to your club. The zone meetings used to be for certain officers only. Then in 2019, any Rotarian or Rotaractor became eligible to attend. According to the event website, Trails to Peace, this opened the door for a wide range of training opportunities and exposed more potential leaders to the wider world of Rotary. They are also gaining valuable training and meeting inspiring leaders. Check out the agenda to see all the great events you can attend. You'll also find information on the website about accommodations, transportation and things to do in Salt Lake City. And finally, you can easily register yourself as a member and any guests you bring. It'll be fun! |
