Remember when Todd Fischer visited our club a couple of months ago? One of the Rotary opportunities he mentioned was a spring trip to Ecuador. And now we have the details, excerpted from a districtwide email! You can join us on a trip to Ecuador to visit Rotary global grant project sites funded in part by district 5400 clubs and Rotarians. There is space for a group of 10, with 4 people already committed and two more Rotarians in consideration. The budgeted cost is $2,100. Please join us. Secure your place by sending a $200 non-refundable check, made out to The Rotary Foundation, by March 11th. Those funds will be used to support Rotary global grant projects in Ecuador, are tax deductible, and will apply to your next Paul Harris Fellow. This is our way of thanking our partner Ecuadorian Rotary clubs for hosting us. The trip consists of two days of project visits and meeting with Rotarians in the mountain areas around Quito, a drive to the coast, another two days of project visits and meeting with Rotarians in the Bahia area, then drive back to Quito and fly home. You are encouraged to add extra time before or after the itinerary to enjoy all that Ecuador has to offer. The Rotary trip itinerary:
Please contact me if you would like more details or would like to join us in a "Rotary Vacation." Todd Fischer |

Club members, please prioritize attendance to our annual meeting on June 23. Your attendance is crucial as we plan for our next fiscal year and wrap up this one. The fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. According to our bylaws (Article 5, Section 2), the annual meeting of the Eagle-Garden City Rotary Club is held on the first Thursday in June, if possible. This year, we're holding it a little later in the month. A quorum is necessary to conduct business. One-third of the membership constitutes a quorum at the annual meeting of the Eagle-Garden City Rotary Club. That means we need at least 8 members to make decisions. Also according to our bylaws (Article 6, Section 6), the amount of annual club dues is decided at the annual meeting. These dues include RI per capita dues, subscription to The Rotarian, district per capita dues, club dues, lunch costs, and any other Rotary or district per capita assessment approved by the club. Per Article 6, Section 1, the board is preparing a budget for the next fiscal year, with estimated income and expenditures. This budget may be ready to share at the annual meeting. |
