Our guest speaker on September 11 was Reagan Ryder, a registered social worker with Momentum. Reagan shared how the organization helps Calgary individuals and families build sustainable livelihoods.
Momentum focuses on financial empowerment, employment skills training, and small-business development, along with policy advocacy aimed at reducing barriers for people living on low incomes.
Reagan also shared her personal journey with Momentum. She first became involved as a youth participant in its Match Savings program, where her savings were matched 4-to-1. This support helped fund her post-secondary education, ultimately leading to her career in social work and her return to Momentum as an employee.
Overall, Reagan gave us an inspiring look at how financial knowledge, skills training, and opportunity can help people build a stronger future for themselves, their families, and their communities
