What Did You Miss - December 6, 2021
Chair: Heather Lohr

Blessing: Heather Lohr

Heather welcomed the members on Zoom

O Canada: Susan Ueffing

Happy $$:
Ellen: After six months, the adult children and dogs have moved out into their new home! It was wonderful to have them, but she’ll be spending lots of time cleaning dog fur!
Carl: Got Vivian back after a (maybe 1 way! Haha!) trip to Toronto to visit and babysit the grandkids!
Shelley: Happy to have gone to the Lions breakfast with Santa on the weekend – it was good fun, he mother danced with Santa!
Sue: Happy to have gone to a baby shower for her future great grand- niece or nephew!
Heather: Happy that John finished his chemo!

President’s Report

Bill explained that he was feeling unwell and didn’t want to share his germs (Thanks Bill!!) and welcomed Matthew and Elva who were also on Zoom. He reminded the club the Brian was looking for help with the upcoming baking night (Tuesday, December 7th) and that next week was our last regular meeting for the year, though we will have our Christmas Social on December 20th.

Heather further explained that tickets are $25 and there will be food catered at the event, a gift basket with $5 tickets and two drink tickets included. Please sign up by December 13th so that they can know numbers for the catering.
Lastly, an envelope went around at the meeting for cash gifts to the Paddy’s staff and it will be available again next meeting for collection.

AGM:
Rick confirmed we did have a quorum for the AGM.
Bill did a Presidents Report verbally, most reports were circulated via email, and a few comments were made on those reports. As a part of his report for Valley Faces, Phil presented a cheque to the club for $30,000!

The reports were accepted by the club, the financial report was approved and Morse, Brewster, Lake was appointed as the auditors once again.
For the nominating committee, Phil then presented the slate of directors and called for nominations from the floor three times. There were none, so the club voted the presented names in as directors.
Finally, there was a motion to close the AGM.

What is The Rotary Foundation Cadre of Technical Advisors?
Supporting the humanitarian grants programs, the Cadre of Technical Advisors is a group of volunteer Rotarians who provide technical expertise and advice to Rotarians planning and carrying out Rotary grant programs around the world. Ellen won the lucky ticket… and no luck!!! So it’s a roll over!!

Heather added in Illness Reports:
Matthew updated the club from Zoom that he was recovering from his concussion and whiplash with lots of help from his partner and health care providers, but it was a slow journey. He is hoping to attend in person next week.

Heather and the club read the 4-Way Test and adjourned.

See you next week!
