President’s Report:
President Bill reported that there will be an evening meeting March 28th at 5:30 for 6:00 to update the club on progress to date on the club’s strategic plan. Meeting will be at the Celtic Room.
District Conference will be a hybrid event this year with a virtual conference attended by watch parties. Holly Thompson has suggested the 4 Valley clubs get together for a watch party. Details to follow.
Brian Smith is looking for volunteers for Project Lifesaver.

DG Harvey Bass took the members through a presentation as attached talking about Rotary’s Core Values, Areas of Focus, changes to Rotaract as outlined in the attached presentation.
Harvey shared a presentation from Jennifer Jones, incoming Rotary International President who introduced her theme “Imagine Rotary” who commented that we all have the same number of minutes in a day and it is up to us to determine how we use them. You can see Jennifer Jones presentation here:

RI Minute:
How can You help Ukraine? In response to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, The Rotary Foundation has made available the Disaster Response Fund as the main avenue for contributions. All Donations made online at Disaster Response Fund – My Rotary, Including the use of available district designated funds (DDF), need to be received by April 30, 2022. Grant applications to take advantage of the funds will be available now through June 30, 2022. This will be the main avenue for Rotary Foundation Support, but Rotary and Rotaract Clubs are also encouraged to create their own responses to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. In addition to the support provided through the Disaster Response Fund, The Rotary Foundation is coordinating with partners and regional leaders, exploring effective solutions to the increased humanitarian needs. Committee Reports:
Phyllis reported if you would like to make a donation to the Rotary Clubs of Kings County Charitable Foundation in memory of Fred Falconer, please forward a cheque or e-transfer to Phyllis, Chair of the RCKCCF board.
Phil Warren reported sales are going well so far for Valley Faces of Business. Last year’s fundraiser grossed close to $150,000. Shelly Fleckenstein and Brian Hermiston are targeting Wolfville businesses. If anyone would like to help them, please let them know.
There is some concern that Brian Hermiston is still in prison!! If anyone would like to contribute expertise to his legal battle or perhaps come up with a plan for escape, the club welcomes the help!!
