WINE SURVIVOR - with a twist

Your Special Events (SE) Committee invites you to participate in this year's Wine Survivor - with a twist.  What's WINE SURVIVOR?  It's a contest giving Kentville Rotarians and their friends a chance to WIN wine and gather together socially (in small safe groups).

In the time of Covid, we are going to host our WINE SURVIVOR finale February 13 at several Rotarians homes in small groups and "Zoom" in for the draw declaring the winner of this year's WINE SURVIVOR!

Beginning Monday January 18, Chris Maynard and members of the SE committee will be collecting a bottle of wine and $20 as entry into WINE SURVIVOR.  To participate, just bring your wine and money to a Rotary meeting, drop it off at John Lohr's or Chris Maynard's office or bring it with you February 13th.

On February 13th, we'll gather in small groups at several Rotarians homes for conversation, snacks and to find out who will be this year's winner of WINE SURVIVOR.  And it's not a coincidence that we've chosen February 13th!  Because CHOCOLATE pairs beautifully with wine and we love chocolate the day before Valentines!  So there may be some chocolate at the hosting homes!


  • You can enter our WINE SURVIVOR contest by bringing a bottle of wine (min $15 value, and no homemade wine please) and $20 to Rotary, dropping off at John or Chris' office or bringing Feb 13.  Someone will win ALL the wine collected during a draw Feb.13.
  • We would love you join our small social gatherings Feb 13 at Rotarians homes.  You DO NOT HAVE TO PARTICIPATE in the contest to participate in our Feb 13 socials.
  • If you are participating in the Feb 13 event, please bring a snack to share and whatever refreshments you wish for yourselves.
  • If you've thought about introducing friends or collegues to Rotary, please extend and invitation to participate in our WINE SURVIVOR contest and/or attend our social.
  • You don't have to attend Feb 13 to participate in the contest for a chance to win all the wine.  You can also join us via ZOOM for the draws!
  • If you would like to host February 13, please let Susan or Phyllis know or note in the comments section when you register.  There will be a maximum 10 people (including hosts) per home.
  • Please register and include your details in the comments section - just want to enter contest? - will be joining via zoom? - doing it all? - want to host?  And please register any guests so we can ensure our numbers are within our 10 person cap.
  • WINE, CHOCOLATE, AND SPENDING AN EVENING WITH OUR ROTARIAN FRIENDS - we hope you can join us in part or all of our event as is most comfortable for you.
