Crawfish Boil
The 10th Annual Rotary Crawfish Boil was a great success.  Thank you to all that came out to support our event. Check back later for the date and details of the 2023 boil.
After a three-year absence, the Rotary Club of Galveston will host its 10th Annual Rotary Crawfish Boil Sunday, May 1, from 12 noon-4pm at Moody Gardens.  Presented by the Dr. Leon Bromberg Charitable Trust Fund, proceeds from this special fundraising event will benefit directly many of the Galveston community’s vital humanitarian and education projects and programs.  The Crawfish Boil will be held this year in the spacious Breezeway – between the Convention Center and the parking garage, with plenty of parking space available. Everyone can look forward to a delightful afternoon of great Cajun food, live Zydeco music, fun activities and contests, and a full afternoon of fellowship with family and friends.
The Lighthouse Charity Cooking Team will be back - under the direction of John Bertolino and his superb crew - preparing a superb plate of Cajun-spicy crawfish, potatoes, onions and fresh corn on the cob. Also, back again by popular demand, attendees can opt for specially-seasoned hot, boiled shrimp - if preferred.  Other popular options to round the menu include Lighthouse Dogs and red beans and rice. Beverages will include ice-cold beer, soft drinks and bottled water.
Since this event began, everyone attending has enjoyed live – and lively - Zydeco music. And, and rest assured this tradition will continue as Mustang and his Two-Steppin' Zydeco Band will return by popular demand and will perform throughout the afternoon. Another crowd favorite at this fun family event is the Zydeco Dance Contest, and the competition will culminate with the crowning of the festival's Zydeco Dance King or Dance Queen. In addition to being "crowned", prizes will be awarded to the winning King or Queen, as well as to winners in each category. The "Children's Crawfish Eating Contest" and more fun contests will round out the afternoon's activities for families and their children.
Crawfish plate tickets are $25 in advance; $30 at the door. Crawfish or shrimp plate tickets are available through Rotary Club of Galveston members, at the Galveston Chamber of Commerce office, 2228 Mechanic Street (Suite #101); by calling the Chamber office at 409.763.5326, or purchasing on line at  Advance tickets will be available through Friday, April 29.
