The annual chili supper has become a community and Rotary Club of Galveston tradition.
For over 40 years, the Rotary Club of Galveston has coordinated a chili supper fund raiser. This event is the major fund raiser for the Club and has become a community tradition. The recipe has never been shared albeit well sought after. Guests can eat in the cafeteria of Ball High School or carry out. In addition to the delicious chili, there are tamales and desserts. The desserts are for the most part prepared by Club members, but there are also donations from the Galveston College Culinary Arts Department, Moody Gardens and the Tremont House. The Club also has a partnership with Half Price Books. Half Price Books donates books to the Club which are given away to families and children who are in attendance.
