As president and CEO, Matt Prochaska has led the Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation since September 2017. He has a team approach to economic development and loves the Brazos Valley. Matt joined the BVEDC with over 25 years of experience in various leadership positions in industry and economic development. He served as a board member and chair for the Tate County Economic Development Foundation in North Mississippi from 2008 to 2014. He and the board successfully recruited, launched, relocated and helped expand various companies to the area, including commercial roofing material company Carlisle SynTec, Tier 1 auto supplier PKUSA, Calbe North America and BMW. Matt also worked with the Mississippi Community College System at Northwest Community College to enhance and support workforce development programs such as the John Deere Technology Program. In addition, he has led successful teams in acquisitions, joint ventures and launched hundreds of new products in the commercial furniture industry over the span of his career. Matt received both his Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Speech Communication from Texas A&M University with emphasis in international business development. He is married to Merrilee Derrick Prochaska and has two children, Anne-Marie and Joshua. Matt is passionate about community service as a Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow.
