Erin Cooke, Sustainability Director, San Francisco International Airport

Erin Cooke’s full professional career, expanding nearly two decades, has focused on assessing how climate risks affect varied businesses, nonprofits and the publics they serve while building pathways to cut carbon and achieve resilient outcomes.  Currently, Erin serves as San Francisco International Airport's (SFO) first Sustainability Director, where she brokers sustainability and net zero investments across capital projects and develops and implements the Airport's Strategic, Sustainability and Climate Action Plans, including aligned annual reporting. Erin previously served the City of Cupertino as its first Sustainability Manager and, next, first Assistant to the City Manager working to oversee a portfolio of energy, water, and materials programs earmarked in the City’s first Climate Action Plan, including the launch of Silicon Valley Clean Energy, Safe Routes to School Program, Green Business Program, Regional Renewable Energy Procurement Project, Green Fleet Replacement Program, Silicon Valley 2.0 Climate Adaptation & Resilience Plan, Community Sustainability Committee, and more. Erin has also supported the diverse environmental-focused initiatives through her employment with the Conservation Law Foundation, Goddard Institute of Space Studies, National Park Service, New York Department of Environmental Conservation, The Nature Conservancy and The Canyon's Ski Resort. Erin is a LEED AP and earned a Master of Public Administration in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University and holds a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Erin is proud mama of two under four, a semi-tiny house remodeler/gardener, bike/train commuter, community organizer, and the narrator of kids storytelling App, Toontastic
