Mona Lisa - Finding hidden meaning in Leonardo da Vinci’s Knots - This Wed at Quinlan Center
This Wednesday Cupertino Rotary will hear from writer and filmmaker Caroline Cocciardi about her work in interpreting the interlocking embroidered knot pattern on Mona Lisa’s dress and its mathematical pattern.

In the process of looking in Leonardo’s codices for his preliminary sketches of the Mona Lisa knot, Cocciardi discovered he was dedicated to including knots with meaning in his works of art.

Her newly released art book, “Leonardo’s Knots”  introduces a facet of the Renaissance painter that was overlooked for centuries yet was present in his artworks: his passion for mathematics and intertwining knots.
