Tina Oris-Hartigan introduced District Governor Tim Lundell Tim and his lovely wife Penelope O’Neil joined our Rotary meeting to share Tim’s message for our Rotary year. We also got a glimpse at a next year’s District Conference on May 17-19 on the USS Hornet. The event is sure to be a lot of fun. Tim shared our district is the 8thlargest Rotary district in the world! Tim attended the Rotary International conference with other district governor’s. Here he learned our theme for the year would be “Be the Inspiration.” This was an ah-ha moment for Tim as this theme helped solidify his own theme for our district. - Leadership

Tim encourages all Rotarians to engage, be good stewards of our community, and support our District. Tim encourages us to focus on membership acquisition. We acknowledge all service organizations need to be vigilant in recruiting new members to ensure future viability/sustainability of the group. To that end, Tim shared a quote by Warren Buffett for us to consider, “someone’s sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.” |
