March 3rd Program - Eugene Whitlock - How to Talk about Race
Eugene uses a unique blend of humor, neuroscience and data-driven analysis, to help people in both the private and public sector (primarily education), create and sustain inclusive workplaces and classrooms. He has extensive experience in HR departments at top colleges, school districts and as a corporate attorney in US and abroad.  Eugene earned his J.D. Cum Laude, from University of Michigan Law School, and a B.S in Biological Sciences from Stanford University. When Eugene is not working, you can find him spending time with his wife and three children, who feature prominently in his colorful anecdotes.
Pi Day in Honor of Tom Dyer for FUHSD Adult School
Every year the FUHSD Adult school, one of our key partners, sells Pies on Pi Day to raise funds. Our own Tom Dyer was a HUGE supporter. This year we are virtual, but the pies are REAL and there are cookies as well.  You can buy Gizdich Farm pies for $25 (Apricot, Berry, Apple or Dutch Apple)  or homemade Chocolate Chip/Snickerdoodle for $15/ dozen. Its all Yummy and for a great cause so  order them online now by clicking here or contact Adrienne at adrienne_moberly@fuhsd.org to order. Speaker: Lisa Moorehouse, California Foodways
 
Wendell Stephens introduced Lisa Moorehouse to enlighten Rotarians about California food.  Lisa is a Monta Vista / UC Berkeley grad who moved from a teaching position to reporting and journalism.  
 
Lisa found she was very interested in finding out about food served in the counties of California.  She has visited 42 of the 58 counties in our state!  Lisa tries to report the story behind the story, like how the town grew around its local economy, and challenges faced by the residents.  The Central Valley and Fresno are her favorite cities for diverse food choices.  Lisa reports on KALW.org.  Visit www.Californiafoodways.com for more details.
