President's Report
President John thanked the sixty members who have sent in facts for the Rotarian Trivia contest in which the winner gets part of the change from the weekly “Let’s Make a Change ” collection. This week’s challenge is to identify the Rotarian who helped organize and lead a civil rights march where 200 citizens participated in a silent show of sympathy for Selma in the 1960’s in a CA town.  This Rotarian also walked with Cesar Chavez in the march he led from Delano to Sacramento for the rights of farm workers.  If you know the answer, email Dolly Sandoval with the answer, your name, and contact information.  Answers much be received by Tuesday.

Join a World Community Service Project Trip
This October:  One to India - One to China
In conjunction with Cupertino Rotary's World Community Service projects, two trips are being planned for this October - one to China and one to India.  Both provide interesting choices for introductions to the communities served by our Rotary Foundation Global Grant projects.  Our WCS trips are open to Rotarians, and non-Rotarians, alike.

India Oct 11-24  Our Club is the International sponsor of various TRF Global Grant projects in India all in conjunction with Host Rotarians in India.  Traveling in India on a Rotary project trip introduces travelers to gracious Rotarian hosts and the chance to build fellowship around our shared efforts to address community needs.  The two week trip will visit Kerala and Mumbai.  It will then carry-on to Cupertino's sister city Bhubaneshwar, Orissa as part of an official visit by the City of Cupertino.  Click here for a trip summary.  For more information contact Padma Chari.

Visiting the Sankara Eye Center in Coimbatore, India.  Cupertino Rotary provides buses to transport patients for surgeries to restore vision.

China Oct 14-28  Cupertino's recent projects in China have been with the Shin Shin Education Foundation.  A trip this October will visit schools in GuiZhou.  Teachers at these schools are among those who attended Cupertino Rotary sponsored training in how to teach English to their students.  The 14 day trip will also tour Beijing, Xi'an and Shanghai.  A wheelchair distribution is also being planned.  Click here for the trip flier.  For more information contact Sophie Qian or Amelia Ho.

Visit to a project school in Dunhueng, China during a 2014 Cupertino Rotary project trip.
