World Community Services report: Jagi Shahani—presented a celan water project in Kenya—water that Jagi learaned about as a result of his participation on a archeological dig with then DeAnza Professor Isiah Nengo. Total cost is $88,000 to provide water for 5000 people in two villages. Turkana Basin Institute, founded by Leakey. This project is still in the fund-raising stage.(~$40k is still needed). The project has enormous grass-roots support and will make a significant difference to the villages.
