President’s Club: Rose Ann Woolpert joined President’s Club to in memory of Bobby Gill, an employee who was working directing traffic during the recent mud slides.  He is well remembered for making a difference and helping others.

President's CornerPresident Judy took this opportunity to thank a number of members of the club including the club service team for the special Valentines day theme. She thanked the Crab Feed team let by Jeanne and Dana for the excellent Crab feed- great food, great fellowship and excellent fundraising. The publicity team really kicked it into high gear this year as it was a total sellout. President Judy also thanked everyone for turning out for the Orange Harvest at the last minute where 25 rotarians picked over 4500 lbs of oranges for local food banks.

Steve Onishi presented on behalf of his team and the Vocational Service team that after extensive consideration and analysis the job support group  was no longer meeting. The needs of job seekers has changed, and  there are now more and varied services available from others. Steve will be leading a group to pivot rotary in a new direction to help job seekers toward New Collar jobs and is seeking volunteers to help investigate and invent this program. Contact Steve if you are interested.
 

Birsen Gokyigit from the Istanbul-Yeşilköy Rotary Club thanked us for our past and future support of the Avoiding Blindness project in Turkey, helping many people with corneal disease.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

PP Kathy Nellis provided those in attendance some training on the CREF permanent fund, now over $1.1M and a major contributor to our club's capability to service the community. So far CREF has contributed over $275K to our Avenues of Service.  Kathy then introduced the CREF board to a round of applause for the hard work they do on our behalf.
