California Wildfires

Chief Nick Ciardella of CalFire's Santa Clara Unit and a 25-year fire-fighting veteran protecting us from wildfires will give us a brief history of CalFire and an overview of the lightning event on August 16, 2020.  He will present CalFire's response to the SCU Lightning Complex Fire, successes and challenges in its response, and how he is applying this learning to prepare responses in the future.
