Marico Sayoc is a community advocate that has dedicated her career to making positive impacts on social and environmental justice issues. She is the Executive Director of CASSY-Counselilng and Support Services for Youth, a non-porfit that partners with Bay Area Schools to provide resources and professional, on-campus mental health services to students free of charge. CASSY's mission is to de-stimatize mental health services and make supporting students' social and emotional well being the norm in our schools. 

Marico is also the Mayor of Los Gatos. She represents Los Gatos in regional and state policy issues and serves as the President of the Cities Association of Santa Clara County. She enjoys working in the community and learning first hand of the gaps in our safety nets to better advocate and legislate the policies necessary to lift the lives of those in need.

Marico began her career working for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and spent many years in the environmental field also working for the H. John Heinz III Center for Science, Economics and the Environment and the Natural Resources Defense Council. Marico holds and Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science from U.C. Berkeley and a Masters in Environmental Management from Duke University.
