Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) is a nonprofit whose mission is to protect and care for open space, farms, and parkland in and around Silicon Valley. Hear from Tonya Treble about POST's 40-year history, successes in protecting over 76,000 acres (contributing to the state and county parks and open space preserves that make our region extraordinary), and updates on POST's five program areas.

Kevin Ice, POST's Coyote Valley Project Manager, will dive deeper into POST's role in the Coyote Valley's protection. Coyote Valley is one of the last remaining large, undeveloped valley floors in our region, connecting over one million acres of core wildlife habitat across two mountain ranges, the Santa Cruz and Diablo Ranges. Kevin will explain how POST's work in Coyote Valley will safeguard wildlife passageways between the two mountain ranges and protect our region’s biodiversity, buffer adjacent and downstream communities against flood risk, preserve the largest drinking water aquifer recharge area in Santa Clara County to benefit both our supply and quality of drinking water, and promote environmentally-friendly agricultural and recreational activities. Kevin will answer your questions about POST's, and our partner the Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority's, work in Coyote Valley to protect and uplift the uniquely critical Coyote Valley landscape.
