Competitive Acrobatic Pilot

Chris grew up living on the Shady Cove airport near the upper Rogue River, in Southern Oregon.  Chris’s father was a bush pilot and airplane builder. Living on an airport was very exciting and a childhood dream, which influenced Chris’s passion for flying. Chris earned his private pilot license at 18‐year‐old in a PA‐18 (Super Cub) bush plane. Chris built his first high performance aerobatic airplane, an RV‐8, in 2003 and attained his first 500 hours in aerobatics by 2007.  In 2007, Chris transitioned into an Edge 540 (Red Bull Racing Plane) and began training with renowned US Aerobatic Unlimited team coach, Allen Garringer, and airshow performer, Bill Stein.  Chris achieved 400 hours of training and competition time in the Edge 540. In 2016, Chris upgraded to an Extra 330sc (top performing aerobatic plane) and began training with three time world champion USSR team members Sergei Boriak and Nikolay Timofeev. Chris currently competes at the advanced level and hopes to make the US Advanced team and fly for the US in Las Vegas in 2022. You can track Chris on his Facebook private group page “Green Monster”.
